Thoughts to ponder - One Liners

  • Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.

  • It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.

  • When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there.

  • People are funny; they want the front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.

  • Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your front door forever.

  • Quit griping about your church; if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.

  • Some minds are like concrete... Thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

  • Peace starts with a smile.

  • I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from?!

  • A lot of church members who are singing "Standing on the Promises" are just sitting on the premises.

  • We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.

  • Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He'll clean them.

  • Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

  • Don't put a question mark where God put a period.

  • Don't wait for six strong men to take you to church.

  • Forbidden fruits create many jams.

  • God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

  • God grades on the cross, not the curve.

  • God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit" over "religious nuts!"

  • God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

  • He who angers you, controls you!

  • If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

  • Prayer - Don't give God instructions; just report for duty!

  • The task ahead of us is never as Great as the Power behind us.

  • The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

  • We don't change the message, the message changes us.

  • You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to........discourage him.

  • The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
    1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

The Time Is Now!

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
—John 10:10

We must learn to be "now" people and not relegate everything to the future.

I believe it is time to possess the land, time to get very serious. We need to take a more aggressive stand concerning possessing what Jesus died to give us. We can think about it, dream about it, talk about it, but it is time to actually have and enjoy all that Jesus has in mind for each of us.

The blessings of God don't simply fall on us. We must stand our ground and possess what is rightfully ours. We can easily get the mistaken idea that we are to limp along here on earth while just looking forward to the blessings of heaven later on.

Have an aggressive faith toward the covenant blessings that God has promised. Start confessing that you are blessed and that the good things of God flow to you in abundance.

The Greater One lives in you. You can do whatever you need to do by His power. Believe it! Don't wait to believe it until later on, but do it now.

Make a decision to be a "now" person.

Say This:
"I believe now, I obey now, I give now, I pray now. I am possessing the land—not later, but now!"

Whom Will You Serve?

...If anyone intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown, and lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and...follow with Me [continually, cleaving steadfastly to Me].
—Mark 8:34

Jesus is coming back for a glorious Church without spot, wrinkle, or blemish. (Ephesians 5:27 KJV.) One of the best ways to become glorious quickly is through prompt and extreme obedience.

Obedience and selfishness are opposing forces. If we are to be glorious, we must be obedient. In order to be obedient, we must be willing to say no to self daily. We must learn to say, "Yes, Lord, yes," and to say it quickly!

We need to learn to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit. He lives in us and is constantly attempting to lead and guide us. He gently lets us know when we are going in the right direction or the wrong direction.

Obedience to the Lord requires developing sensitivity to His ways, which comes through His Word. We are not just to read the Word, but to do the Word. (James 1:22.)

Make a decision today that you are going to come up higher into a new level of obedience. The rewards of an obedient lifestyle are well worth the price.

Choose you this day whom you will serve—the flesh or the Spirit.

Pray This:
"Father, I choose to be obedient in every area of my life. I will follow Your plan and not my own. In Jesus' name, amen."

A Perfect Heart

You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect.
—Matthew 5:48

We are commanded to be perfect, and what God commands, He gives a heart desire to attain. Yet, this desire to be perfect can cause a great deal of frustration.

Perfection is a process that is worked out in our lives as we go from one degree of glory to another. There are degrees of perfection. We can be almost perfect in one area, and very imperfect in others.

When we give our will to God, we have a perfect heart. But even at that point, we still have faults, weaknesses, bad habits, and imperfections.

The Lord accepts us as we are and counts us as perfect while we are on our way toward perfection.

If you have given your will to God, this is step one. You now have a perfect heart, and the process has begun.

You are not alone in your travel from glory to glory. Paul said in Philippians 3:12,13 that he wanted to be perfect, but that he had not yet arrived. He pressed on to things ahead. He knew if his heart was set in the right direction (if he had a perfect heart), that was all God required.

Say This:

"With God's help, I will keep pressing toward perfection. I am growing in maturity, character, integrity, and godliness."

Star turns 57 today

Well i am not ashamed to say this, as I grew up as a Rajni fan watching him on the screens.

Though i do not approve of his life in the real world, as he stays away from the truth sadly; he has acheived tremendously in the entertainment industry.

Still they are sweet memories as I look back from Basha to Sivaji. I remember watching Arunachalam, Muthu, Padayappa, Baba, Chandramukhi and Sivaji on the bigscreen. Some of the others in Television.

I wish him a happy birthday this day, as he turns SilverJubilee+Seven and DiamondJubilee-Three.

Looking forward to Sultan!

Samjosh.
